Development and Field engineer on a number of global subsea production control systems. Developed bespoke software applications for subsea technologies
On-site & Offshore commissioning and support engineer.
Project Engineer on a number of fast-track Subsea Production Control System covering subsea and topside equipment (MCS, HPU, EPU).
Involved in all project phases from kick off meeting, through system design, integration and site testing, final commissioning, servicing and customer training.

2001-2011
Responsible for building and supporting the Subsea Surveillance business with a focus on subsea controls and communications technologies.
Product Team lead then Champion for the SMC Subsea Monitoring and Control System. Responsible for all aspects of Business Development for the subsea communications system including business definition, marketing, sales as well as development of project specifications, quotations, scheduling and costing.
Development manager for a number of subsea real-time analysis and design software applications including flow assurance, real-time data acquisition systems and infrastructure design tools.

2011-2020
Technical Authority and Discipline team lead for Subsea Control Systems at TotalEnergies. Responsible for maintaining company specifications, managing project derogations & clarifications and validation of new technologies.
Provided technical advisory support to R&D groups and pre-project conceptual and feasibility studies, project execution and operations including FMEA / HAZOP / HAZID and SIMOPS reviews.
Represented TotalEnergies on industry bodies and committees and led the initial creation of a subsea data model as input into the CFIHOS standard.
Initiated the development of the TotalEnergies SubCM digital platform which has since become an industry leading subsea condition monitoring application

Vice President of the Customer Success group in FutureOn leading a small, global team of customer engagement and technical consultants with the goal of supporting the integration and use of the FieldTwin digital design twin platform within a fast-growing customer base.
The role was combination of customer interaction, project management and application of my subsea and offshore technical and processes knowledge to help customers extract value from the platform and to use FieldTwin to increase their productivity & efficiency.
The Customer Success team was key to understanding and translating customer needs as input into the Product Roadmap and to support the R&D, Development and Sales growth teams.

Industry engagement
I have a degree BEng (Hons) in Electronic and Electric Engineering (Heriot-Watt University) and Masters in Offshore Engineering (The Robert Gordon University - with Distinction) and hold a number of patents relating to subsea control and monitoring systems.
I have been involved in a number of industry standards groups including ISO 13628-6 initiatives for subsea standardisation (IWIS, MDIS, SIIS, SEAFOM) and have provided input into the IOGP JIP36 CFIHOS subsea data model working with Equinor, TotalEnergies and DNV.
I have strong leadership skills with experience leading technical, project and product development teams and I am confident in presenting and communicating at all levels having presented at a number of management and industry conferences over the years (OTC, ONS, Offshore Europe, UTC, MCEDD).
